আমরা সাধারণ মানুষ কমবেশি সবাই কোন সময় কোন বিশেষজ্ঞ ডাক্তারের কাছে যাব তা কনফিউজড থাকি। আজকের এই পোস্টে আশা এই কনফিউশান কিছুটা হলেও দূর হবে।
1. Dermatologist ( ডার্মাটোলজিস্ট ) = A doctor who treats & advises the diseases of skin. Skin specialist. ( ত্বক বা চর্ম রোগ বিশেষজ্ঞ।) যে ডাক্তার স্কিন বা চর্ম রোগের ট্রিটমেন্ট করেন তাকে ডার্মাটোলজিস্ট বা চর্মরোগ বিশেষজ্ঞ
2. Cardiologist ( কার্ডিওলজিস্ট ) = A doctor who treats the diseases of the heart. Heart specialist. ( হৃদরোগ বিশেষজ্ঞ।) যে ডাক্তার হার্টের রোগ বিষয়ে বিভিন্ন ডিগ্রী অর্জন করে হার্টের চিকিৎসা দেন তাকে কার্ডিওলজিস্ট বা হ্রদরোগ বিশেষজ্ঞ ডাক্তার বলা হয়ে থাকে।
3. Gynecologist/ Gynaecologist ( গাইনীকোলজিস্ট ) = Female disease specialist. ( মহিলা রোগ বিশেষজ্ঞ / স্ত্রীরোগ বিশেষজ্ঞ / প্রসূতি বিশেষ্জ্ঞ।) যে ডাক্তার মহিলাদের বিভিন্ন জননতন্ত্রের রোগ বিষয়ে অভিজ্ঞ তাকে গাইনোকোলজিস্ট বা স্ত্রী রোগ বিশেষজ্ঞ ডাক্তার বলা হয়ে হয়ে থাকে।
4. Dentist ( ডেন্টিস্ট ) = Doctor of teeth & jaw bones. Dental Specialist. (দন্ত চিকিৎসক।) যে ডাক্তার দাঁতের ও মুখের সকল প্রকার চিকিৎসা ও অপারেশন করে থাকেন তাকে ডেন্টিস্ট বা দন্ত চিকিৎসক বলে থাকে।
5. Ophthalmologist ( অপথালমোলজিস্ট ) = A doctor treats & operates the diseases of eye. Eye specialist. ( চক্ষু বিশেষজ্ঞ।) চোখের বিভিন্ন চিকিৎসা ও সার্জরী করে থাকেন তাদেরকে চক্ষু বিশিষজ্ঞ বা অপথালমোলজিস্ট বলে।
6. Orthopedist ( অর্থোপেডিস্ট ) =A doctor treats & operates the diseases of muscle, bone & joints. Muscle and bones expert. ( পেশী এবং হাড় বিশেষজ্ঞ।/ অর্থোপেডিক সার্জন।) হাড়ের রোগ ও হাড়জোড়া সংক্রান্ত সকল চিকিৎসা দিয়ে থাকেন।
7. Anesthesiologist / Anesthetist ( এ্যানেস্থেসিওলজিস্ট / এ্যানেস্থেসিস্ট ) = A specialist who administers an anesthetic to a patient before he is treated ( এমন বিশেষজ্ঞ যিনি চিকিত্সার আগে শরীরের সেই অংগ অবশ করেন / অজ্ঞান বিশেষজ্ঞ।)
8. Endocrinologist ( এন্ডোক্রিনোলজিস্ট ) = Diagnosis and treats diabetes, hormone imbalances, thyroid disease and other disorders of the endocrine system.( রোগ নির্ণয় এবং একইরূপে ডায়াবেটিস, হরমোন ভারসাম্য, থাইরয়েড রোগ এবং অন্ত:ক্ষরা সিস্টেমের অন্যান্য রোগের বিশেষজ্ঞ। / হরমন বিশেষজ্ঞ।)
9. Gastroenterology ( গ্যাস্ট্রো- এন্টেরোলজিস্ট ) = Specializes in diseases of the digestive system.( পরিপাক তন্ত্রের বিশেষজ্ঞ/ গ্যাস্ট্রো- লিভার বিশেষজ্ঞ।)
10. Hematologist ( হেমাটোলজিস্ট ) = A hematologist specializes in diseases of the blood and bone marrow.( রক্ত ও অস্থি-মজ্জার রোগ বিশেষজ্ঞ / রক্ত রোগ বিশেষজ্ঞ।)
11. Hepatologist ( হেপাটোলজিস্ট ) = Specializes in diseases of the liver. (যকৃতের রোগের বিশেষজ্ঞ / যকৃত বা লিভার বিশেষজ্ঞ।)
12. Neonatologist ( নিওন্যাটোলজিস্ট ) = Cares for premature and critically ill newborns.(যে অকাল এবং গুরুতর অসুস্থ নবজাতকদের জন্য চিন্তা করেন / নবজাতক বিশেষজ্ঞ।)
13. Neurologist ( নিউরোলজিস্ট ) = A neurologist specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of disease and functions of the brain, spine, peripheral nerves, muscles and nervous systems. ( স্নায়ু রোগ বিশেষজ্ঞ / স্নায়ু বিশেষজ্ঞ।)
14. Pediatrician ( পেডিয়েট্রিশিয়ান ) = A doctor treats & advises the diseases of child. A child’s physician. ( শিশুরোগ বিশেষজ্ঞ / শিশু বিশেষজ্ঞ।)
15. Oncologist ( অনকোলজিস্ট) = A doctor who treats cancer. ( ক্যান্সার বিশেষজ্ঞ।)

20. Sonologist (সনোলজিস্ট ) = Doctor who can diagnose various diseases by ultrasonogram machine. ( আল্ট্রাসনো বিশেষজ্ঞ।)
21. Physiotherapist / Physical Therapist (ফিজিওথেরাপিস্ট)= A doctor who can diagnosis a patient with pain and paralysis, then make a plan for series of treatments & rehabilitation.
22. General Surgeon / Surgery Specialist. ( জেনারেল সার্জন / সার্জারী স্পেশালিস্ট।) = A surgeon who operates common abdominal & other problems of human body. ( একজন সার্জন যে পেটের ও মানবদেহের যাবতীয় সাধারন অপারেশন করেন।/ সার্জারী বিশেষজ্ঞ।)
23. ENT Surgeon/ ENT Specialist ( ই এন টি সার্জন বা স্পেশালিস্ট ) = A surgeon who treats & operates the diseases of ear, nose & throat. ( যে সার্জন নাক, কান ও গলার বিভিন্ন রোগের চিকিৎসা ও অপারেশন করেন। / নাক, কান ও গলা বিশেষজ্ঞ।)
24. Neurosurgeon ( নিউরোসার্জন) = Who operates diseases of brain, spines & nerves. ( Neuro Surgery Specialist ).
25. Pediatric Surgeon ( পেডিয়েট্রিক সার্জন ) = A doctor operates the problems of child. শিশু সার্জারি বিশেষজ্ঞ ( Specialist in child surgery ).
26. Cardio Thorasic Surgeon / C T S ( কার্ডিও থোরাসিক সার্জন / সি টি এস ) = Specialist in cardiac and thoracic surgery. (হৃদরোগ ও বক্ষ সার্জারি বিশেষজ্ঞ).
